Save Elm Thicket was created to help neighbors have the information they needed to have their respective voices heard regarding the proposed zoning case that was decided Oct. 12, 2022. It is because neighbors like you took the time to read and make their decision to support the zoning that we, as a neighborhood, had our collective voices heard by City Hall.
What we were able to achieve together is a testament to fulfilling a promise to those legacy residents that still live in Elm Thicket and to those that have passed. Any new homes constructed in Elm Thicket will have to look like homes and not office buildings. It is a tremendous achievement that goes a long way in preserving our historic neighborhood. Save Elm Thicket is proud to have played a role in that endeavor.
Since that zoning case was resolved, we have spoken with many of you about the future of Save Elm Thicket. Resoundingly, everyone said they liked getting information about the zoning case and would like to stay informed of programs and activities that happen in Elm Thicket/Northpark. We could think of no better endeavor for Save Elm Thicket to undertake. That brings us to June 2023 and the publication of our first issue of ETNP News.
ETNP News is a monthly newsletter about activities happening in Elm Thicket/Northpark or programs that can help ETNP residents. From getting help paying your water bill to free activities for children and teens, the ETNP News will provide you the details you need.
If another zoning issue or other city issue arises we will let you know what the issue is and provide you with all the information we can gather so you can make the best decision for yourself and for Elm Thicket/Northpark. But on top of that, we will also be highlighting all the wonderful aspects of the Elm Thicket/Northpark neighborhood and the incredible people who make up this historic neighborhood.
So sign up today to receive your monthly edition of ETNP News. You can also follow up on Facebook and Instagram.
